About

Story

Star Log is a collaborative writing project telling the story of the Federation Mapping Lightship (FML) Magellan as it travels to explore the star system 452Z. The story follows four individuals aboard the FML Magellan as they traverse the stars encountering peril, fear, longing, adventure, misadventure, growth, and turmoil while bravely expanding the frontier of human knowledge.

About the Authors

Rebecca Prendergast is a writer who occasionally dabbles in chemistry, and as such, possesses a keen understanding of what it means to be a scientist aboard a lightship. In her free time, Rebecca pursues a variety of activities including playing piano, destroying video games, playing with her cats, and reading a prodigious amount of manga.

Gus Miltenberger originally started his creative career in drawing and painting before moving on to working in film. His screenwriting credits include Texas Cotton (2018). Gus is looking to expand his content creation portfolio by moving on to collaborative blog storytelling, the true final frontier.

Maggie Tyson is an up-and-coming writer who probably knows more about literature than anyone on this project. After reading roughly 100,000 books, Maggie has absorbed enough knowledge to tackle this collaborative writing project. When she is not bringing a lightship crewmember to life through the written word, Maggie practices social work.

Travis Prendergast is an Army officer by trade, who has been working on several unfinished writing projects for the last five years. In addition to fictional short stories, he also writes non-fiction, which actually gets published. He is on Twitter at @strategy_boi and you can find more of his writing at thesteadyrunningofthehour.wordpress.com.
